SirDarquan The Snuggie: A new low for inventors

Has anyone seen the Snuggie commercial? Here it is just incase you missed it. Being that this post is about this product, I suggest you view it at least once before continuing. Go ahead, I'll wait.

OK did you see that crap? Are they friggin' serious? Stupid products have been around for a long time and the commercials for them are just as ridiculous. But come on... a blanket with sleeves!!  Granted everything in the commercial is generally true. Before wireless gaming consoles, when I played a game, the wire would let the cold air under the blanket, so I either had to deal with it, turn up the heat, or just keep my arms out. It was rather annoying. So I thought on how I could solve this problem of staying warm without turning up the heat (so I could save money) and at the same time, keep my arms and legs warm.

First I tried putting on more clothes, but that gets bulky and uncomfortable over a long period of time, but I was warm and had the freedom to move my arms. That made me realize I needed something with sleeves. Like a ROBE!!! It was perfect too because it's the length of my body, terrycloth which is REALLY warm, and it has sleeves. Suddenly I was able to move about staying warm even while moving throughout my house. I could even wear it outside while taking out the garbage. I've been using this new fangled invention for only a short period of time... 3 years and I have to admit... it's my 2nd one. The first was given to me by my parents when I was around 13.

So when I saw this commercial I immediately thought, "IT'S A BACKWARDS ROBE!!!" The only major difference is it doesn't come with a rope to tie so you back is exposed unless (and heaven forbid you do this) you wear it the right way. The worst part about this commercial is the old guy that has it on while flipping the channels with his remote. The "Snuggie" made him look like a Catholic Monk. Tell me I'm lying, I dare you. I'm not the only one who thinks this way either, but if you must have one, I've provided a link to make it easier to get one from this post. You have been warned!  LOL

Snuggie is to be used as a blanket the addition of sleaves is that you can still handle things without needing to pull it down below your armpits...

My point was that a robe handles this function already and the Snuggie is not needed. They try to make the point that you can move around with it on so you can stay warm. A robe does the same thing. AND as an added bonus, since everyone knows what a robe is, you won't look like a total idiot with one on. Now in fairness, if you don't already own a robe, this probably isn't that bad a product to have, but why not just get a robe? They come in more colors, sizes and can even be customized. Just my thought.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE SNUGGIE! IT'S MY FAVOURITE. MY BF BROKE BROKE UP WITH ME TWO WEEKS AGO AND ALL THAT KEEPS ME COMFORTED AT NIGHT IS MY SUPA DUPA TEAL SNUGGIE. YOU MAY CALL IT A BACKWARDS ROBE, BUT I CALL IT MY EMOTIONAL RESOURCE. THERE ARE TIMES WHEN YOU GET SO SAD AND COLD, PEOPLE LEAVE, PEOPLE DIE, PUPPIES GET RUN OVER, BUT MY SNUGGIE IS ALREADY PRE-SHRUNK COTTON AND WILL ALWAYS BE THERE. CRITICIZE IF YOU LIKE, EVEN LAUGH, BUT OBVIOUSLY YOU ARE LETTING THE BEST IN LIFE PASS YOU BY. YOU DON'T KNOW LUVIN' TILL YOU'VE WRAPPED UP IN A SNUGGIE.

I CALL MINE OSCAR. WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO CALL YOURS? JUST FIGURED I WOULD ENLIGHTEN YOU, AFTER ALL, WHAT ARE FRIENDS FOR?

Dang SnuggieLover, why you have to shout? I Only call it a backwards robe because it is. I acctually own a robe and I've put it on backwards on occasion be cause I liked to use it as a blanket. This what well before the Snuggie came out. So when I saw it, I recognized it for what it was, A Backwards Robe! I'm sorry to hear about you and your boyfriend though, but if all you need is a Snuggie to make you feel better I have to seriously wonder about how you view relationships.

When I first saw the commercial for the Snuggie, I thought it was the most ridiculous thing I had ever seen. My second thought was, "I wonder if anyone would actually wear one in public?" like is so aptly demonstrated in the commercial. A quick search of "Snuggie Sightings" revealed a lack of Snuggie photos from the wild. It is for that very reason that I have decided to bless the world with http://www.snuggiesightings.com - my gift to the world. If you ever see anyone wearing a Snuggie in public, snap them with your cell phone or whatever camera you may have and send to photos@snuggiesightings.com.

Mariclare is an idiot. I would rather get a slap in the face than a snuggie.

I like how you criticize the snuggie and then provide a link that sends you money if your readers buy one.

As what other commentators said, snuggie is definitely the worst invention that ever read since then I'd rather eat raw carabao mango than try that one.
